Checklist:

  • 2 forms of ID (Birth certificate, social security card, passport, drivers license)
  • About $70 cash (Find out in your county (Find out in your county)
  • Your beloved

Process:

  • Gather all the items on your checklist
  • Take your future spouse to the chosen courthouse
  • Fill out the forms and walk away with your partial license
  • Go somewhere special and GET MARRIED- and the officiant will sign the license
  • Bring your marriage license back to the courthouse and get your pretty official license right away.

Do we have to be residents of Georgia to marry in the state?

No. If at least one of you lives here you can obtain a marriage license from any county Probate courts. If neither of you are residents you will need to go to the Probate court of where your ceremony will be held.

What if I’m recently divorced?

If it has been less than 6 months since your divorce was final you will need a copy of your divorce decree. If it’s been longer you just need to know the date.

Is there any waiting period in Georgia?
